For years, this vision commanded my hours as I toiled in my small vineyard….

Jo-MEE-o-kee

The more intimately I came to know the land, the more I was drawn to the sound of this word. A name used locally, yet I had not associated it with the prominent hill. Curiosity led me to find that the native Saura people honored the natural monument with the word, it's epithet meaning The Great Guide. Later on, settlers named the monadnock Pilot Mountain. Its mystical presence remains an enduring source of inspiration and guidance.

This Journal is an attempt to honor and celebrate the spirit of this place and what it gave me: a center from which to explore and contemplate the beautiful and mysterious intricacies of being human.

Please join me in living the questions together.
